Dates in December: Ideas

Blogmas 2017: 12 Days of Christmas

Day Six

There is something so romantic about winter time. The cold weather gives extra excuses to snuggle up with your significant other. However, there is only so much cuddling on a sofa people can do, you know? Just because it’s December and times are cold and tight on the purse strings, doesn’t mean that you should get complacent with your loved one.

I’ve come up with a few ideas to keep the fire going during these winter nights.

Cinema and Drinks

A bit of an obvious choice perhaps, but in case you haven’t noticed, there are a lot of good films out at the moment. One film in particular that I know I will be going to see (yes, I haven’t seen it yet, no spoilers please!) is Star Wars. Grab your popcorn and enjoy the ride, then how about a drink afterwards so you can discuss what you loved or (dare I say it) hated about the film?

Either way, this is a classic date night and one that won’t pinch your bank balance too hard.

The Great Outdoors

I know, I know, it’s cold and half the time it’s wet outside. However, snuggling up by the fire in front of the telly will be so much more worthwhile if you’ve actually ventured out into the great outdoors.

We all own cute hats and scarves, grab these and your wellies and get out into the fresh air. Head out for a big walk in the countryside; everything out there looks so nice with a bit of frost. It’ll be like that scene in The Holiday where Jude Law and Cameron Diaz run around that stately home’s gardens, and they fall in love over a fancy cup of tea afterwards… aww!

Board Game Night

I for one can’t sit and watch toooo much TV. Don’t get me wrong, I love a good binge, but I need to get away from screens!

My idea of a perfect night in in December is playing some board games with my boyfriend, or family, or friends. Articulate is, in my opinion, the best Christmas family game out there. Monopoly and Scrabble are also personal faves. Get the hot chocolates flowing, the Quality Street at the ready, and set yourselves up a board game. What a lovely sounding evening!
